Wednesday ("Wednesday," "we," "us," or "our") operates the askwednesday.app platform (the "App" or "Service"), connecting students, alumni, and organizations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, school affiliation, classification (e.g., freshman, alumni), and, if provided, your major, bio, resume, profile picture, and video resume.
Organization Information. Organizations provide an admin name, email, organization name, type, and related profile details.
Communications. We collect the content of messages you send through the App's messaging feature, posts, and any files or media you upload.
Usage Data. We may automatically collect device information, log data, and how you interact with the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Verify your identity during registration and login (via email and/or SMS verification codes)
- Enable messaging between students, alumni, and organizations
- Send you transactional notifications, including text message (SMS) alerts — for example, verification codes when you sign in, and notifications when another user or organization sends you a message on the App
- Operate AI assistant and knowledge base features offered by organizations
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Text Messaging (SMS) Notifications
If you provide a phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from Wednesday related to your account, including:
- One-time verification codes for login
- Notifications that another user or organization has sent you a message on the App
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your activity. You may opt out of non-verification SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting us at support@askwednesday.com or simba.zimuto@askwednesday.com. Reply HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Verification code messages are required to sign in by phone and cannot be opted out of while using phone-based login.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Other users, as necessary for the messaging and networking features you use (e.g., your name and profile are visible to organizations you message or follow)
- Service providers who help us operate the App, such as hosting, database, file storage, email delivery, and SMS/telephony providers, under obligations to protect your data
- Legal authorities, if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Wednesday or others
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 7.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Withdraw consent for SMS or email communications
- Request a copy of your data

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users affiliated with a school or organization and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
